thanks, so my next question is: what size is that in AN fittings? or would you just use a AN to 1/4" hose barb?

You want to use -6AN fuel lines and fittings.

well i'm pretty sure the HRC fuel lines are not 6AN.. maybe 4, i just needed to make sure. i was thinking of just using some 6AN to 4AN reducers and hose barb fittings. i'd rather not have to buy all new fuel lines just yet, since i have the HRC ones already.

You could just flare the 1/4" hard line leaving a male 4-AN fitting on it, then run braided line to the regulator. I don't know what regulator you are using, but most have 6-AN, so you would need a reducer as you were saying. The test port on the stock rail is also 4-AN, so you can run braded line straight from the rail to the regulator as well.

that's what i was thinking, thanks for the help. BTW i'm using the sfmu. do i need to get braided lines, or can i just use barbs to attach the HRC rubber line to the sfmu? that is the line between the HRC hard line and the sfmu.
BTW: does it matter if the fittings are steel or aluminum? b/c the steel ones are like half the price of aluminum AN fittings. also, when getting reducers, are they just straight AN reducers w/ o-rings, or just flare reducers?

Thats what i did. I just got 2 6AN to barb fittings, then clamped to the fuel hose. > >BTW: does it matter if the fittings are steel or aluminum? b/c >the steel ones are like half the price of aluminum AN >fittings. also, when getting reducers, are they just straight >AN reducers w/ o-rings, or just flare reducers?
I dont think it really matters. Af for what end to have, i know the SFMU uses Flared 6AN fittings, and the stock fuel rail used a standard 4AN with O ring, as the test port isnt flared on the end.

do the fittings that aren't flared come w/ o-rings? i didn't see that mentioned in any of the decriptions.

Well i just checked my setup- the stock rail is flared on the end of the test port fitting. The HRC 4an fitting they give you has NO O ring in it, so just get normal AN fittings. I always thought AN fittings were flared, and non flared fittings were NPT. Sorry for the confusion :) For some reason i never noticed the flare on the test port..

can you run straight fuel line instead of the hard line............

Sure ya can, bu I wouldn't advise it. There's a reason why the stock lines, and the HRC return line are all metal: if you ever bottom out your car or run into some uneven pavement, or even have something large strike the underneath of your car, you wouldn't want to start a fuel leak. And as anyone might understand, fuel leaks from moving cars is not exactly a safe proposition.
I would much rather have a safe slow car, than a fast, turbocharged time bomb.
