So today I decided my car is too slow. I bought my car with the intention of going turbo but I am not loaded by any means.

So what I'm asking is what would net me more gains for the money, a VCN-2000 Nitrous System or a custom stage 2-like turbo setup.

Keep in mind that I am in no way as mechanically inclined or as knowledgable as others on this board...so I would be requiring the services of an experienced mechanic to install/tune.

I can get all parts for either setup at dealer cost.

If you are not going to be touching your car, and you just want it for the fun factor, I would say turbo, less of a headache for day to day stuff. But it is up to you. I am sure you went thru the trouble of reading for days on end and read the pro's and con's about both set ups... So make your own anylisis and see what your goals for your car are. It is a personal choice, not really a community one.

I wanna learn to do it all myself cuz i hate having to pay peeps to work on my car, plus that's half the fun right?

Well whatever you do, don't pay anyone to install your stuff. I am more than willing to help for free. As for the turbo/nitrous debate... what are you wanting? Power all the time or just power for the track or stop light races?

Once you boost you will never go back. You will always want more, and you will always be breaking things. Its a given... boost a motor that was not meant to be boosted. Stuff is going to break, its simple physics.

EDIT: I am also not saying you shouldn't boost it. I would just have an extra 2000 bucks on tap just in case. Thats for your clutch and then money to rebuild... ;)

really want to go turbo, but i want power soon... just seeing if anyone would tell me to def go one way or the other: like "dude just save your $$ and go turbo..." so i can tell my wife that i have to get a turbo if i want to be fast;)

Id say go turbo! Nitrous is good for a boost of power, but how long does it last? Plus, turboing a car isnt as hard as it seems.

I would take a look around. You might opt for a Hahn or Star kit, but if you want you should look into building your own kit with whatever parts you deem necessary. It ultimately turns out much cheaper than buying a prefab kit. You can pick up a lot of parts used, saving you a lot of money. Plus, if you have someone to help you out with the install that knows what theyre doing, then you should have no problem making your own kit. Were all here to help incase you got questions.
