Ok heres how it went. Last tuesday i noticed my car leaking antifreeze. Turns out it was from a cracked water pump. I put the car in the shop friday to repair the water pump and install a underdrive pulley (since the process required the belts to be off anyways. I get the car back friday night, and its fine leaving the shop. As i get on the highway, the car starts bogging and hesitation under throttle. At idle the car is very irratic and sometimes wants to shut off. I notice the a/f reading on the autometer(not very accurate) stuck in the red. The car is also billowing black smoke and deposits. Since the timing belt had to be removed to change the water pump I figured maybe the timing wasnt set right and the distributor cap is gone. I dunno though. By the way, this was performed by a highly reputable shop here in ga, and it is going back to them first thing monday morning. Im just trying to get a heads up on whats going on. My setup is the Hahn stage II kit, FMIC, and Denso plugs. Any help will be appreciated.

Hmm thats wierd. You say the car seems to be running very lean according to the a/f, but its billowing out black smoke which would suggest that its running too rich. Check to make sure that all the vacuum lines were correctly replaced after they did the work. Make sure they didnt screw up your FMU settings, and ofcourse get the timing belt rechecked.

yeah, do consider that i have the crappy autometer a/f guage. It is reading straight red, car idles like crap (sounds like a v8), and spits black smoke and deposits. I have no idea whats wrong. Itll be in the shop first thing in the morning. Any other ideas?

your car doesnt have a distributor cap...it uses twin coil-packs.

Check your o2 sensor... if its totally shot and reading super lean the ECU will dump loads of fuel into your engine. That could explain your a/f gauge reading super lean but your car probably running really rich.
