Ok so I thought I had this figured out, so I decided to do a search to make sure and I read that there was a test port on 96+ fuel systems. what the hell is that, from what I read its on the end of the fuel rail, is that right? Ok so my question is does that stay on there or do I remove it? If I remove it what do I do and if I keep it do I just run a line from the test port to the FMU then from the FMU to the tank? Also which is the inlet and outlet on the FMU?

the test port on the fuel rails is a -4an fitting with a schrader valve (like valves in car tires, or bike tires) remove the the center of the valve witha tire tool, hook up a fitting and a hose going to your FMU...

There should be a screw-on cap at the end of the fuel rail. Remove the cap and then remove the pin inside using your schrader valve tool.

ok now I'm really confused. Because now it sounds like there is no fuel return line on 96+ cars, I was under the impresion there was. I thought there was because from what I've heard and seen the fpr is on the return line, but I can understand if its on the sender line, which is correct? Also when I remove that pin and hook up the fmu and all that if there is NO return line where should I hook the return line up at on the gas tank?

the fmu connects to the test port at the end of the fuel rail, and you must run a return line back to the tank. the stock fpr is in the back, so there is a return line, but it is very short, from the stock fpr back to the tank. on the 95-96's the stock fpr is in the engine bay, so the return line is already run from the front of the car. technically you could just hook up the fmu in the back where the stock one was(i think the directions say to do this) but it's totally impractical to have under the wheel well, and impossible to adjust, therefore we put it in the engine bay, and run a long return line.

well now im lost. i have a test port at the end of mine (97 built in 96) does anyone have a diagram on this because i am hookn mine up on sun and hopefully starting the car. i thought that we had to run 2 lines back to the stock fpr and take it out. also where should i hook up the inline in all this. sorry for my not knowing just wanna get it right. thanks ben
