44687, correct order for fmu internal parts
Posted by whodatt1, Mar-13-03 06:15 AM
Any one know what the order of the parts is?
starting from the outer cap where the vacuum hose plugs in, then comes the diaphragm.. then another metal piece with the little cylinder then how does it go?

I took mine appart to clean and I believe I got it back toguether the right way, but now fuel press is up to 90psi at idle instead of 50!!

I have never opened the FMU, but i can tell you the SFMU order, i believe its the same? Top lid, then round spring retainer, spring, bottom spring retainer, diaprham, then disk/ring or whatever you have in the FMU. Dont over tighten the outer bolts, just snug them up when putting it back together.

thanks, this is what the fmu has..
top lid (where air comes in) --> diaphram --> disk---> center piece with hole in middle where a short metal bar slides up and down. --> very thin metal disk ---> small diaphram --> bottom lid (where fuel lines come into).

this is the order that I think they go in but psi shot up to 90 at idle, so something is not right. I'm chocking everyone behind me in a huge dark cloud of black exhaust.. hehe... no one has taken an fmu appart?
weird.. guess I'm a pioneer hehe.
