need to mount this beotch but I need to know which way to go with it.
I have a starion. The inlet/outlets are around 1.75in or so. I'm wondering what to use for piping. This is what I've gathered so far:
2in:Should be ok for running 5-8 psi and I can fit it on my starion w/o modifying the in/out on it. Should be minimal turbo lag
2.25in:Again, good for the boost I'm looking at. It'll probably give me worse lag but should be ok if I want to up the boost levels. Problem is I cant do a direct fit to the starion
2.5in:Biggest possible. Same as 2.25 but there will be alot of lag for the boost I'm running.
Suggestions welcome. :thumbsup

I'd say 2 inches. This way you can supplement yourself for now, but if you wanted to later on, you can still modify the ic for bigger goals.

I'd recommend a 2" inlet (from turbo) and a 2.25" outlet (to TB). The reasoning for the smaller i/c inlet pipe is because hot air travels faster than cool air. The smaller diameter piping will help with that; and cooler air will travel faster inside a bigger pipe. For low boost applications, I wouldn't go over 2.25"

^^^^^^^^ you will have too much of a pressure drop doing that, either stay with 2" in and out or 2 1/4 max in and out don't mix the two.

Man, I got so many different opinons on this subject. I decided to stick with 2in all the way around. Figure it's only going to cost me like 67.00 from JcWhitney so screw it. If it doesnt work I'll just try something else. ;)

where are you finding 2" from JCWhitney? i only saw 3" from them. maybe i'm just dumb

that is how the hrc kit comes. 2in from turbo and 2.25 from intercooler.

I can't see any more pressure drop than going from stage 1 to stage 2. I'm building a turbo kit for a mustang, and it's going to be 2.25 in and 2.5 out to TB. I see no probs w/ 2 & 2.25 out.
