ABout how much does the install run for the stage 2 kit and the FMIC? I also need to know, would a manual boost controller be ok? Also, turbo timer? Which is best? About how much $$$ am I looking at for a turbo kit/FMIC install?

depends where you live man. can range from 400 to 1,000 dollas just depends and find a reputable mechanic. this is you engine here don't go cheap.

Passen Motorsports in Columbus, Ohio (from what I've heard an excelent tuning shop) quoted me $600 for the stage 2 install with the SMIC, I would think that an FMIC might add an hour or two to the install, so maybe $700.

Don't get a boost controller until you get pistons, rings and cams. The wastegate that is included with the system goes about as high as the engine can handle with stock internals, a boost controller might be too tempting.

If you wanted to get one, I like the HKS type 0 and type 1. The type 0 is your basic turbo timer, the type 1 adds G-tech like features (1/4 time, 0-60 time, skidpad, etc.)

I hear the stock wastegate only allows like 5 PSI. That isn't what I heard. I hear the stage 2 with FMIC can take 8 PSI.

It depends on what stage you buy. If you start at stage one, you get a 5psi wastegate spring. If you start at stage II, you get a 8psi wastegate spring. I actually have the 5lb spring, but hell, I never see below 15psi anyway ;)
