ok i'm sure this has been asked before but i'm new to nitrous and don't know much. but i'm curious if it is safe to use nitrous with a turbo motor??

one of my friends who used to drive a toyota MR2 turbo put a nitrous system on his car. 4 days later he blew his motor big time! i don't know if was the nitrous or if the nitous had just made it worse or if the motor was ready to go anyway.

i have a 50 shot nitro system and i plan to get a hrc stage 2 kit, i think i remember our engine being rated at 300hp on stock internals, SO -the stage2 outputs 275, ie if i were to also hook up the nitro at the same time i'd need some internal engine work done (or lower the shot size a little)

yeah, work the bottom end and make sure you have the fuel(bigger injectors, fuel management, pump, etc.) requirement cause that's a LOT of force feeding!!!!

The biggest problem is the rising rate regulator turbo kits use. Fuel pressre varies from 45psi to up to over 100psi for atage 2. Factrory turbo cars ECU adds the fuel for the mosty part and fuel pressure remains fairly stable making it easier. It can still be done though.

how about just putting on a nos system on our 420a motor?? i've heard not to do it because it'll hurt the motor. i'm thinking about putting on a nos but i'm not sure if i want to do that or put on a turbo. which is better. the turbo would be cheaper in the long run, i wouldn't have to refill nos all the time.

If you have the money for a turbo kit get that, if you don't, a nitrous kit is a good substitute. There are drawbacks to both as with all mods. The turbo kit initially is a couple thousand, then to go to the next stage is dropping more money etc etc, Nitrous you may only have to drop in a different shot jets (up to 75 hp) to up your HP but you still have to fill that bottle after 12 or so 1/4 mile runs. Upgrading the internals is a requirement in the future if you are thinking about running higher HP with either/or.
As for hurting the motor, only if it is misused, to high of shot for stock internals or installed incorrectly.

ok thanks that clears that up for me. i think i'll save up for a turbo, or mabey the cyclone motor swap. then i'll save up and upgrade that motor. then i'll add on nitrous, for track use only, or mabey if a real fast car wants a piece of me.
