my question now is can i do the last setup or a port setup?

this would be safer and more accurate right?
i decided that i want power now and cant wait another 4 months for the venom kit. should i wait or should i go nos with a port system? and can it be done?

If you read that page, you already know using a direct port system requires you to drill holes in the each intake port.
Yes it can and has been done, not really reversable (unless you have another intake) Before ordering it make sure this is something you can do yourself or find a shop who will do it, a lot won't. Also I am not sure if they make a setup with low enough jets for your application, i think someone had said lowest was 100hp shot (25 shot per port).
It is safer because your getting an even amount of fuel/nitrous per cylinder, not like with a normal wet kit it just sprays into the intake and goes where it wants to.

You can do a direct port NOS system #5030FI but the install is complicated requiring removing the intake manifold and tapping it for the nozzles. Also requires tube bending ect. Wouldn't recommend a 1rst timer installing it. Yes its more accurate but as far as I know the minimum that can be run is 80hp.

Stan's right, the lowest is approx. 80hp. I have the NOS direct-port fogger myself. It's a nice kit but does require a little skill & patience with the install. IMO it's worth it though for the extra tunability. Also it is reversible, you would just have to find some plugs and install them in the holes where the nozzles were. You could get these pretty easy at any hardware store. If your planning on running the gas alot then you should think about investing in a purge kit, and possibly an aux. fuel pump.

so can my engine handle a 80hp shot? i thought it was only safe to do a 50 shot untill you do an engine rebuild and then a 75 shot???

You can do more than 50hp. 75hp is okay. 5 more hp and more precision aint gonna hurt anything more than 75hp but I get the feeling a direct port 80hp would be a bit stronger than a single fogger 80hp. I wouldn't run it on a stock bottom end except for racing only but thats because I have no self control when it comes to power and would be using it too much.

Hey Joe,

Can you tell me a bit about your 05030-FI kit? I'm getting it this week and although i'm knowledgeable enough to install it, it doesnt hurt to get some info from someone who's already done it. Did you tap the manifold right behind the fuel rail? I've been thinking that is a convenient location but because its on a "bend" the nitrous/fuel spray may be directed towards the manifold cuved wall and puddle instead of mixing with the incoming air?

I also thought about mounting it on the UNDERSIDE of the manifold but it would be a PITA having to crawl under the car to change nozzles everytime...

thanks for the info.

Yeah it will be a b***h to change the jets under the intake, but trust me it's nothing compared to changing them on top of the intake. If you mount them under the curve on the intake then you have to take the whole intake off, it sucks. If I had to do it over again then I would definitley mount them UNDER the intake. Plus if you mount them under the intake it's easier to hide the fact that you have gas, as long as you don't pop the trunk. :)

Yeah but i dont like the fact that the solenoids will be under there and i want to check up on the solenoids as much as possible to prevent the fuel solenoid going bad...i'm going to stick with the nozzles behind the fuel injectors or if it becomes too difficult may try something else.

Hey lemme ask you, i checked your site and you were running TWO bottles at the trunk....what did you do to be able to do that? did you just use a coupler and couple both bottles into the same line?

thanks.

This system is just plumbed so that the bottles act like one big bottle. I have one line going from one bottle to the NOS solenoid. Then I have a second line going from the same bottle (using a tee) to the second bottle (which also has a tee on it). Then I have a third line going from the second bottle going to a NOS press. gauge. It's really very simple, but it looks cool as hell and everyone thinks I have some kind of two stage set-up or something :).

gotcha, thank you.

What size nozzles do you run? and do you have a stock bottom end? I have strengthened bottom end (crower rods, arp studs and bottom end studs, je pistons, etc) and was wondering what is a good nozzle size to start with for both fuel and nitrous. I have stock fuel injectors but aftermarket fuel pump (extreme motorsports 190lph) and will have the fuel pump wire mod done by then.

thanks for the info.

My system is only set up for an 80 shot. When I was running it alot I had a stock bottom end and didn't want to risk blowing it up. I have a built bottom end now (Crower & JE) but with the turbo I haven't needed the gas yet :). Your N/T still, right? If so then with your set-up I would run about a 150 shot of gas on that thing, The bottom end will definitly stand up to that. You shouldn't have any problems as long as the fuel system is up to par, which you said you already have an aux pump. I think you should be good to go.

do you have any timeslips to give me an idea how fast you run with that 80 shot? even though you got turbo...

I'm psyched!!!!

No sorry, can't help you there. I don't have any slicks and we all know that racing a FWD w/o slicks is hopeless, IMO. I can tell you this though, w/o a turbo & just NOS I was able to keep up with my friends GS-T which had basic mods (exhaust, Injen intake, ported & clipped 16G). With a 150 shot you should have no prob whipping on a stock GS-T.

You can whoop stock GST's with a 60 shot, with decent tires.
An 80 shot should (with good traction) put you in the high 13's.

I wouldn't necessarily say that you could "whoop" a GS-T with just a 60 shot. You may be able to beat one (depending on driver skill) but it will still be a good race. Just look at the simple math...140hp+60hp=200hp where a stock GS-T comes with 210. Now I know that turbo lag comes into play, but a T-25 spools pretty quick. Also a GS-T is geared to take advantage of the turbo. Their 1st & 2nd aren't going to launch them as fast as us, but they don't wind out as fast either. This means they are in the power band longer, where we are shifting into our higher slower gears.

You said a stock GST, stock is stock (no K&N, no new BOV etc)and yes you can. Most N/T's (GS's are about the same) are lighter than the GST by around 200 lbs. The T25 also has no top end regardless if it is at factory boost setting or at 18psi, still drops considerably by 4500 rpm. Our cars powerband starts at 4000 NA, with nitrous the powerband seems to always be there.
Driver skill does matter but if you can run mid 14's at a track you should be able to beat a stock GST on the street (which with a perfect driver run 15.1). I have better traction with my street tires on the street, than I do at the track with drag radials and have beat stock GST's even slightly modded GST's. Beat a slightly modded GSX at the track, this was probably more driver skill but only mods on it were K&N, 1g BOV and the upper ic pipe, so what 12-13psi.

I sure WHIPPED GSTs, 5.0L Mustang GTs, Prelude VTEC and even a few C4 corvettes with a 70 shot, intake, exh and hdr. Better than I could do with this stage 1 right now. When I say whipped that means either a) pulled several car length or b) walked them down and passed them from several car length back.

ok i decided i am taking out a loan for an additional 3k for my car and i want to do all the basics before turbo. i want to totally rebuild the bottom end and some of the top. also i want to get a NOS fogger kit installed. i have about 500 for a 55mm t/b and afx pulley adn the install. also i want to get a neon intake cam and was wondering what i should get for the top end of the engine. i want a 100shot of the silly gas or maybe more but i want it safely and have about 3500 to work with initially.
what do you think?

also i want to mount the foggers below the intake so that it is more hidden. i want to make a sleeper as much as possible. Thanks
is it possible to mount them below or will it cause problems?
