Just wondering if anyone knows why there are no coolant or water lines for the super 16G. Every other turbo I look at has them, and people think its nuts that my turbo does not have them.
Anyone know?

I am not sure if super 16Gs are water cooled or not, by I know some turbos are only oil cooled (like 18G.)

The Super16G is water cooled too. In fact the water holes are blocked off with brass covers that can be screwed out. They are not *technically* necessary if you cool the car down properly.
However it would be cool to hook them up, for the turbo longevity.

One probably forseeable problem, would be the increased temperature of water... Time for a better radiator?

Would it be ok if u just put on an FMIC?

An FMIC really has nothing to do with cooling the Turbo, It just cools the air charge after it's compressed by the turbo.

Yeah, I was referring to the fact that the water lines are blocked off....meaning that being water cooled isn't necessary for the turbo? If it needed to be water cooled, then I would think Hahn would of included water lines and not plugged the holes.

Yes, our Super 16G/20G turbo as supplied with our 420A turbosystems does enjoy the option of watercooling, should the system owner wish to employ it. Some owners have done so, using components of their own design (the stock watercooling pipes from the factory turbo car are a good starting point).

We have used thousands of these units for many years without employing the watercooling option, and seen absolutely zero failure issues as a result. One exception is when our Super series turbos are utilized for extended use, such as top speed runs (Bonneville), road racing, or any other application that could see bearing housing temperatures rise to unacceptable levels. Under such extreme conditions, we will recommend that the watercooling option be employed. Standard street and strip use will not cause this temperature extreme, and therefore will not require watercooling. Thus, to avoid needless complexity, expense, and lengthier installation, we do not include watercooling on these systems. But it is nice to know that, should you ever wish to employ it, the turbo is watercooling-ready.

not too difficult. just T off of the heater hoses. all it takes is a little creativity, and some hose ;)
