4354, 1/4 mile times Posted by fly1, Apr-28-01 12:31 AM
Hey guys, could you post your 1/4 mile times and list what your mods are? I really want to know where I stand because I don't think mine's very good. My best so far is a 15.48 at 8psi, with a 2.44 60'.

Are you automatic? You should be well into the 14s or even high 13s at 8psi with a 5 speed tranny. My best run so far is 16.21, but that's with no turbo.

14.02 @ 103 on 10 PSI using race gas, i refuse to go that high on pump gas. mods are star stage II, 3" testpipe, 3" cat back exhaust, HKS Race BOV, and other basic shit like lowered, 17's strut bars...yada yada. I really know that the 13's are right in my site, just gotta lauch hard and keep in the boost as long as possible.

Jason, looking at your MPH and your actual ET shows that your car puts out a good amount of power, but you are having problems putting this power into the ground. in other words, your 60ft had to be 2.4 or slower. right?
I was able to hit 13.77 with the same trap speed you had "103", my 60ft was not that great eihter (2.28).
your trap speed is good enough for high to mid 13s only if your 60ft was a bit better. ain't it a bitch to launch a FWD with that much of power on srteet tires.
by the way I was talking about my GS-T (AT), my RS is a tad slower than that :) 15.8 @ 86 mph

Phrenzy, to answer your question, my car is a 5-speed. I'm not sure why I'm not able to see 14's, besides my bad 60'. I think it's time for me to do a compression test. It sucks because even some Hondas could hang with me.

I tested my 1/4 mile on HKS Type 1 TT and I got a 14.8 at 4psi:-) and I think I could have had a better start:-) I'm going to check 6psi probably tomorrow or something, so I'll let you know:-)

Dude, that's a great time! At 12 psi, do you have upgrade internals or was that with a stock bottom end? In any case, great run!

You never listed your mph, whihc can much more important in this case than your et. ET is a measure of traction where mph is ameasure of power. Some caveats to this - if you are spinning tires in every gear, you are losing both mph and et. Theoretically, if you are only launching bad, which your 60' times show, you are loosing et and your mph is probably high for the time posted. Reduce the 60' times and you will see your times drop drastically. For example, I once ran 15.0's at 100mph. Seems a little funny huh? Try spinning in every gear cause you are silly enough to go the track when it is wet and can only muster 2.6 60' times. :-/

I ran a 15.3@90 mph a few weeks ago. 99 GS w/HRC stage 1 and a little AFC tuning. 60' times were pretty crappy, 2.3 - 2.4. I think high 14's are do-able, but that time was run into a strong headwind (15 mph) on an 85 degree day. I also need a lot of work launching the car.
