4294, EGT temp revisit Posted by 95ESi, Apr-25-01 04:10 PM
I know this has been asked many times, but what is the safe EGT range for a probe that is 1-2" away from runner #4 during a 3rd gear pull WOT?
I'm afraid to watch my EGTs go over 805 degrees celsius so I let of the throttle...not sure if I'm not getting enough or too much fuel..

I'm aiming for 1600F (875C for the foreigners :D). I got my S-FMU from Wyatt today. I'll put it in tomorrow along with the 440's. Then I get to see if my S-AFC boost sensor trick works. If it works, I'll make a VFAQ and share all the details. If it doesn't work, I'll go home and cry for my dear departed engine

LAST EDITED ON 26-Apr-01 AT 09:04 PM (PST)Best of luck to you!
Keep us informed!
BTW, do you think your boost trick will fix this prob?
DOes anyone get this prob? You are like max boosting WOT on 3rd gear and you let off suddenly from the throttle. Does your car end up bucking when you let off? (I believe this is caused from too much fuel due to the slow mechanical response of the FPR...)

4300, hey! i thought it was just me... Posted by DarkOne, Apr-26-01 04:22 PM
That happens to me sometimes.. the car bucks just a bit when i let off the throttle, usually when i'm at freeway speeds and i'm decelerating from a hard 4th gear pull... nice to know it ain't just me..
My room mate just hit my car :-(
