42464, What mods before NOS? Posted by ForsakenEclipse, Feb-12-02 12:34 PM
I want to put NOS on my car before I go turbo just to see what I can get out of it...right now the only mods I have are AEM CAI, OBX Catback Exhaust system with high flow cat converter...and I am about to get hotshot headers...what other mods do I need before I put nitrous on my car its also a AT but I heard that is ok...but what do I need to do first...and what kit is the best for like a 50-75 shot...and when I go turbo in the future can I keep the nos on there and is so would I have to rebuild the engine internals to stronger stuff or what...just let me know
Thankx ahead

You might want to get some spark plug wires, colder plugs, and run high octane gas when you spray. Other than that you are good to go.

So I was planning on getting Magnacore 8.5 spark plug wires and get those NGK 1 range colder than stock plugs...and what kind of gas should I be using when I spray like 93 or what...but other than that I am good to go...how much could I expect to pay for a NOS Fogger system installation and what kind of shop should I go to for installation...
Let me know

You got it! I heard that a decent price range is between 150-250 dollars and from what the others said it is pretty simple to hook it up. Its funny cause I am in the same boat you are but I wanna see if I can install mine before I take it to the shop and get raped on installation fees.

yah... but alot of previous nitro users turned turbo just sold their kits like the guy I got mine from, because when ya have turbo who needs nitrous when boost is available.

Not for daily driving. Only if you're just drag racing.

in all honesty... don't pay someone to install your NOS. it is sooo simple!! i installed it in 30 degree weather and it only took 3 hours. i haven't had one problem. the trickiest, most time consuming parts were hooking up the trigger switch, (and having it function correctly) and tapping the fogger into the intake (in particular, getting the nut on the back of it) does everyone agree?? if you can hook up foglights, you are completely capable of hooking up NOS.
