42432, fuel rail question Posted by Y2 e c l i p s e d, Feb-21-02 05:52 AM
Okay I know I need a valve stem puller for fuel rail... but to make sure not to have gas leaking out would it be better to depressurize the fuel system by unscrewing the gas cap or disconnecting the fuel pump and letting the car run until it dies? Or would doing both be better?

Just unplug the fuel pump and start the car and wait for it to die.

im not even sure you have to do that. I had the car off and i just unscrewed it and had no problem with any pressure. the fuel dibbled a bit but no massive spray under pressure.
