What do you guys think is best for an AUTO eclipse? I have a cheap intake with a hole in it and I am running on stock header with cat-back.

Nitrous-
basic wet kit + bottle heater + Header + Intake + P&P intake manifold.

Turbo-
Turbo stageI kit.

P.S. which is faster? I want to run mid 14 right now.

Well the turbo is obviously gonna give you faster quater mile runs...but you gonna have to keep the boost fairly low, because you are running on stock internals. Plus...keep in mind the upkeep of a turbo..it can get costly.

As for Nitrous...depending on your engine's mileage and upkeep, you could prolly run a 50-75(max) shot safely. If you wanted to spray more, it would be wise for you to upgrade the internals...and if your gonna do that, forget Nitrous, go with a turbo setup.


Just keep in mind the cost issues...

Either one, as for power, either one can give massive amount of power. Nitrous does the same thing as a Turbo, puts more oxygen into the cylinders to burn more fuel to get more HP. The differance is, with boost, its a more gradual thing, nitrous can be all at once, but if your spraying alot, it can be done, and give the same results as a turbo, a progressive controller is needed. By starting at 80shots and going to -(however high you can go)-over a chosen RPM range is alot safer than a huge shot all at once. I am gonna go nitrous, but if you have the money, I would say go Turbo. Its alot nicer to pop the hood and see a nice turbo system, with nitrous, all you see is the hoses and the intake, headers, and maybe some accessories that can be purchased. Plus, turbo, no filling up the bottle, depending on how much a person uses, it can add up if they have to rfill every week. I hope to keep it to a bottle or two a month. Anyways, choose which ever one you like best, and if you go nitrous, play it safe, or you will bet burned, burned pistons that is.

why not turbo and nos?

Other than spooling up the turbo faster, there would be no need for nitrous on top if the Turbo. With turbo, want more power, up the boost. With nitrous, want more power, up the shot. Having both would be cool, but not sure if its worth while. Tuning might be harder by having both going, but I am not for sure about that.

Basically when it comes down to it...Nitrous is great for instant power on the fly, but the turbo's power is always there.

Its great cruising around town, with that power under the pedal, all the time.

Go with nitrous. Turbo's are very nice, but pricey. Nitrous is cheap, but can get expensive if you intend on using it alot. I enjoy my nitrous, I've had a best run of 14.1 with a 75 shot, and it is plenty enough to be most cars that want to race in town. I hope to hit thirteens soon with some built internals, but then I might want turbo. And yes, my car is an automatic too. My vote goes for nitrous, just be smart. That is the key to both methods of forced induction.

Thats right, if you plan using the power all the time, then go Turbo. If you are more of a weekend warrior, then nitrous may be what you need. Some people may disagree, but from what I have seen, nitrous is easier to tune, the more nitrous you spray, the more you need to tune it, and this involves buying all teh extra fuel management stuff and ignition controllers and such.

I'm more of a weekend warrior. People keep making fun of my car calling me a rice boy when I bought the car with everything on it! In fact I cleaned the car up! I want to prove them wrong.

My dad doesn't like nitrous because of some moron from his work that went through 3 motors. I like nitrous but my car is a daily driver and I can't take any chances.

cucumber! Thank god someone is running low 14's with a nitrous auto eclipse. In the turbo section someone posted saying their auto gs is running 15.9 on 7psi of boost!

How long have you had the 75shot on the car? Any problems? What kit you using?
