42327, Guys need your help on on going all nitrous.
Posted by 99Eclipse, Mar-03-02 12:09 PM
Ok some of you may have heard by now that my 96 turbo'd 2gnt is gone. I have a 99 GS (auto) and I will be going show with this car but do want a full blown nitrous setup. Im familiar with turbochargeing but want to try something new with this setup. Im new to nitrous but not forced induction, so throw me some extreme nitrous setups I can run and whats needed to run them (injectors, etc.

Thanks

how much nitrous you wanna shoot? single fogger wet you can run up 50 to 75 hp safely stock. above that you would wanna upgrade internals, fuel pump, and get better ignition for retarding... but couldnt say exactly cause dont know how high is full blown to you.

No I want a dual stage direct port n2o injection system, the 1st shot being a 75 and the 2nd 150. What exactly do i need to run this safetly and reliably? List everything you can think of.. im thinking of goin with NX.. will I need 2 bottles 2 run this?

two systems w/ bottle, and a completely rebuilt motor. i believe you'll have to go with crower rods on this too because i'm not sure the eagle rods can take car of it. i think the most our stock motors can really handle is 75. im sure you'll get more input though.

Actually Eagles can handle about 500 hp so just the howell rebuild alone and you can push a LOT of power.

one bottle will be ok, it will last a couple runs but I would suggest two if you running that big a shot.

Because 1 bottle with those shot sizes will run out quick. DAMN quick..

Im no N20 guru..but thats just common sense. Anyways...2 looks cooler. Just like the Eclipse in F&F =) LMAO..

And ya...you are gonna def. gonna have to rebuild that beyotch. Nitrous does wonders for your engine *note sarcastic tone in voice*

=)

Also space will be kinda tight because of the system im putting in there so I might be forced to stick with 1 bottle and run those shots for a few times.

Why not put a second back-up bottle in the passenger side foot well? Or when you race put it behind the passenger side seat?

I plan on going all-nitrous, For now I plan on running a 50/75 shot, After college I'll upgrade internal and go all out.

Thats also why all posts in the nitrous section don't get answered right away. Turbo and DSM's just work well together!

i would replace the valves with stainless steel valves...(knows from experience) and like that other guy said just carry the extra bottle with you. running that dual stage system will have your bottle empty in like 2 passes. i run the 100-125 shot and its gone in about 6 passes. you have to remember also that once the bottle has low pressure you will not get a full shot of NOS. so make sure you have a gauge and a heater so that you can use all you can. BTW have your car completely tuned. you dont want to run too lean. you might as well start working on the motor rebuild, tranny rebuild and suspension if you are gonna run that much NOS.

Tranny rebuild? I have an auto, what would I have to rebuild? There's nothing I should need to rebuilt on the tranny.

I know I will need to upgrade my fuel pump, bue like I said will I need some sort of Haltech or something along those lines?

Guys im ordering parts now, so anything you can think of throw at me.

If you're auto and planning on being at the track a lot then you'll want to install a high stall speed converter. That way you can power brake at 3500 RPMS or whatever. Stage 1 off the line and second shot in 2nd or 3rd depending on your traction.

I don't think anyone here has that kind of setup. Good luck and keep us updated. I plan of going the same route.
