422, STAR TURBO kit and the included pump (hey wyatt!!)

Which pump is supposed to come with the STAR TURBO KIT? It's not the Walbro GSS317, right?

I got the GSS307 ...and It was a damn bitch to install!!! One of the reasons was that it is not a direct bolt up like the old...

What gives???

If you look in the instructions, it basically tells you to plug the thing into the fuel line on that harness, then use a hose clamp to secure it to it's harness.

Yeah, that's right, I had to use a hose clamp...thought that was kinda ad hoc...as well, the neck where the valve is smaller than the stock one...I was worried that it wouldn't form a good tight seal so I wrapped it in teflon to increase the diameter...I didn't like how it wobbled so loosely. :-(

As well, I had heck of a hard time getting of the plastic cap on valve...when I finally yanked it off, the tiny metal cap that keeps the valve in place popped right off! Argh, more time spent wasting trying to get the metal cap back on!

And there were no new o rigns or whatsoever...I ended up using the stock o-ring.

I hope I did everything right...the pump appears to work @ idle (haven't driven it yet).

Is it normal that the pump makes a funky whirring noise?? :o

What seems to be the problem?

Tell me exactly what you did so I can see where you went wrong...

Nevermind... it was a loose sensor. We figured it out and it's runnin fine. Thanx anyway.
