42080, Start small then build up shots?
Posted by Axewhlder, Mar-26-02 07:14 AM
I'm getting conflicting opinions on this question:

Before I install my kit, should I just throw the 75 shot jets in and not even mess with the 50 shot ones?

The reason I ask is because I heard from some people that the motor has to get "used to" the nitrous and to increase the shots over time. How true does this hold? Seems kind of odd to me but I'd like to make sure.

Never heard of anything like that? I was also told to start with the 5o shot jets to get used to but they are weak and I wanna try the 75 shot jets now... so if you have the 50's then I would try em first then move to 75 shots(which I think I will do this weekend)

If you have the 50s then put them in first. Monitor your A/F ratios and EGTs. Move up to the 75 if everything looks ok. It shouldn't be a problem, though. Quite a few folks are running 75 shot on stock internals.

Personally a 50 shot is dinky, imo. Just go straight for the 75 and make sure you run the 91-94 octain or whatever the highest octain readyly available pump gas is near you, it wouldn't hurt to swap the plugs and get an oil change either.

Ah. Ok. Starting with the 50 shot is more of a tuning thing.

Thanks for the input guys.
