when squeezing at about 60 mph is it better to have the over drive on or off ?

If you have it on then the car will want to shift to 4th before you have made the most power in 3rd.

Yeah anytime you're trying to top out by racing or whatever leave the OD off! Let 3rd gear run up to redline and then hit the OD and go into 4th. That last gear sucks bad though!
