41806, V-Tec-AFC on nitrous NT eclipse? Posted by babybeclipse, Apr-20-02 01:00 AM
I had an idea in the past couple of days. We were talking about this moron with a sohc V-tec Del-slow who hid his V-AFC and I had an Idea!
Why not use the V-Tec control feature on the S-AFC and us that to trigger the nitrous switch at whatever RPM we want?

You can buy RPM switches from NOS. A lot cheaper than an AFC!

Ya, but if I'm getting a S-AFC anyway I think it would be cheaper to by the V-AFC and have it do the job of both than paying for the RPM do-hicky AND an S-AFC.

Yes, you can buy RPM switches. But, they have problems on our cars. Being that we have direct ignition and not distributed, they have a hard time pulling the proper RPM signal. This is similar to the reason you have to have your "monster tach" calibrated.

Well anything can work if you make it, the question should be is it worth it? To me.. no..
