i wanna run a 50 shot on my 98 talon, ill have all ur basic bolt on's too.

whats the difference between wet/dry? and will it do long term damage to my engine or tranny(AT) / shorten the life of my car?

Well it depends how much $$ you want to spend. you can get a NOS dry kit for around 400 bucks if you look around, an venom kit is a little more but it is computer controlled. but if you just want to run a 50 shot then I would just get a NOS dry kit(dry kit only Nitrous sprays into your intake tube, not nitrous and fuel like a wet kit) there is also a multi-direct port wet kit which you have to tap 4 holes into your intake manifold and bend some line for fuel ect.... long process.. i wouldn't do this one. just go dry kit it's very simple and you will probly be safe up to a 75 shot, i have been running a 60 shot NOS dry kit for about 6 months now with no problems what so ever ;)

A dry shot shot won't work on a 98, you'll need a WET kit NOS, nitrous express, or venom are some good ones.

to add to yellowRS's comment about not working, the reason that a dry kit will not work is because some 96's and all 97-99 do not have a fuel return line. for some reason when the n20 is sprayed, our year models will not add the extra fuel, and will crater your engine by sevearly leaning the mix. 95's and some 96's do have fuel returns, so they run with a dry shot, but we use wet. sure fire way to tell, if your fuel filter is back towards the gas tank, you use a wet shot, if its by the windshield resivoir, its a dry shot.
