i only got to use my vcn once after that the car started to idle roughly and act funny so i decided to get it rebuilt with the howell bottom end kit, the car is almost done so i dont want this to happen again.

can any of you tell me what to upgrade so i can prevent detonation ?
how many inches from the throttle do u have to mount the nozzle?
i put it 4 inches from the throttle like the manual said but i read somewhere that it should be like 8 or 10 inches from the tb.
does uprading the fuel pump help ???
and one last question does a msd ignition help and if it does which would be the best one???

what size shot were you running etc?
what gear were you spraying in?

i was running a 50 shot the blue nozzle on the venom
and im spraying in 2nd and 3rd gears.

but i want to run a bigger shot maybe a 80 shot.

is the venom vcn-1000 a wet kit because i dot know much about venom kits? i have heard upgrading the fuel pump helps i have also heard that you could also upgrade your fuel injectors and get bigger ones. but what i would get is a electric fuel pressure gage because that will tell you if fuel pressure goes down and if it dose you don't shoot or you stop shooting or i would get a air/fuel gage because that will tell you if you are running lean and if you are running lean you don't shoot. i also think that it is cheeper to get gages but that's coming from me a student with no job so I need to save money but if i had money i would upgrade. i find it strange that you blow you engine just by shoting one time i would cry if that happened to me. The Venom is a dry kit which pulses the injectors for more fuel with it's computer. On a 50 shot, you should be able to be running stock fuel system, unless maybe it's on the fritz or something. And are you sure you even blew your motor running it the ONE time you did? It's possible you blew a gasket and got the spark plugs all carbon covered or something...

ok when i checked the car after i used the nos i checked the compression and cylinder no.4 went out i checked the compression again with one cap of oil where the plugs go and the compression went up. also the plugs werent all covered with carbon they were all light gray from what i know thats supossed to be that im running lean right. does uprading the fuel pump to a walbro 255lph help????
