40457, Should I spray?
Posted by BlakeW5, Feb-11-03 07:25 PM
Wondering if anyone here runs nitrous on a high mileage engine? My engine has 127K miles on it, and I want to do something to get some power (I figure a turbo is out of the question). Although nitrous companies swear it's harmless, I'm less than convinced. Has anyone else had problems after running nitrous on a high-mileage engine?

I had 112,xxx on my motor before it went in for a rebuild and it held up fine with a 50-75 shot. I ran a 50 most of the time but i put in the 75 jet some times. Just check and make sure the compression is good.

yea, just do a comp test, make sure your #'s are good. make sure your engine is in overall good condition and runs well. check all fuel systems and all that and you should be safe. if you wanted to be really safe, rebuild your engine then spray.

When checking my compression, what numbers should I be looking for?

180's across the board are okay, any less and you might not want the nitrous.
