40418, Remote Bottle Opener question. Posted by 1FastEclipse, Feb-09-03 12:42 PM
I have the NOS remote bottle opener installed in my car but I can't seem to figure out which direction on the switch is open and then close. Both directions seem to deliver N20. It seems strange cause if it is closed then no nitrous should come out but it still does. This is probably because of the left over N20 in the line. My question is, how long should that N20 last in the line? Also, when I click the switch in one direction there is a loud cling, then when flipped in the other just a slight click. Which one is open and which is closed? Sorry if I confused the hell out of ya.

well, as far as how long you can last on the n2o in the lines..i wouldent think very long cuz you dont have very much pressure...maybe 1-2 seconds, maybe longer. when you get your bottle empty, take it off and find out if its closing all the way and which way is which. thats what id do.

I did that before I put it on but there is nothing to see in there. The opening and closing goes on up in the top of the opener where I can't see it. I can tell it is flipping cause you can feel and hear it when you flip the switch. I just can't tell which way is closed.

lol you want my honest opinion?? press your switch to what you think is closed....go back, take off your opener, put your mouth up to it and try to blow through the nitrous bottle side. there is a sure fire way to tell...

the nitrous will last for quite a few seconds. probably around 5-6.

The clicking is cause the NOS bottle opener is just a solenoid. Its technically not a bottle "opener" cause the bottle is open all the time leading into that solenoid.
I bought one and returned it cause I heard that they tend to leak.... overall I heard the NOS openers are junk.
