Thanks for reading...
I have a 1998 Eclipse RS AUTO, I'm not super concerned about hauling major ass or running 11's but I want to be relatively quick... My question is, with all the things needed after purchasing a HRC stage 1 (just stuff to make it run good, none of the frills) how much will it cost. I need a rough estimate because I'm saving up some cash money. I don't know what all I'll need, that will come in a later post, I just need to know how many skrills I need to save up for all the stuff I'll need.
Thanks again, -Chip

Well, an EGT gauge is a good thing to have that doesn't come with the kit. They're like $130 or so. I'm not sure if a boost gauge comes with the kit - they're cheap though - like $40 or so.
There are other things that could be considered frillish or upgradish. Like an af gauge. It basically puts the fuel trim in your face - so you know you've got enough fuel. You need to get a good one though - like with a digital readout - or a full-throttle modified one from gadgetseller.com. The cost on one should be less than $100.
Of course, depending on how many gauges you need you're going to need gauge pods. Depends on what kind you want - the a-piller ones can hold 3, there's a bezel one that can hold 2. I think any pod holder should be under $100

You NEED an intercooler and the piping (jcwhitney sells bends/straight pipe, etc.)
or just save up for the stage 2.
IMO stage 1 is only for those who want to save a bit of cash and make their own intercooler setup.
IMO I would NEVER just run stage 1. I think 5lbs of boost non-intercoolerd is much more dangerous than 9 lbs intercooled.
and def a tranny cooler and possibly more to strengthen it

Being one of those board member that has spared no dollar to get it done like Burger King, "MY WAY". I will honestly tell you, if you are short on cash this isn't for you. Stage 2 is where you should get your feet wet. And it's alot of money, then there are the small issues to deal with the kit. Fuel pump, missing link, FPR. And then the gauges and a boost controller. Then you have to figure, to get more out of it, you'll need a clutch, an exhaust, fuel mods, etc. You see, the mods never end. And since no two kits react the same way, no one can really put a specific dollar amount cause not every car's results are typical. So if the turbo is your rainy day, I just hope you have alot saved up otherwise it might be hard having to stop in the middle of the project cause of such factor. :wary

I just want to get most of the things I need all at once. I just need a rough idea of how much it'll cost to run a stage 2 HRC w/ all the goodies (The things stated in the posts above)
PS: What is a missing link?

$3500 to start. $2000 when you blow your motor.
That's what it cost me. YMMV.
