39855, The ECU for the 1995 Eclipse GS Posted by gilee_8, Feb-25-03 06:21 AM
Alright, I am kinda messed up right now. At first, I did many research on which turbo I should get and so on... coz I want to build a custom turbo set for myself used on the 1995 Eclipse GS. Then last nite, my friend talked to me about it and he said I HAVE to change the ECU for my eclipse before I can install a kit. And I am like want? I do konw about the ECU and have to change the fuel injection ratio and etc...but I rarely see anyone talked about it here or friends around me. So ok....He persuaed me and I gave up on my custom setup and go for the hahn Racecraft Stage II kit.... SO EXPENSIVE...so I thought...$3000..they got to give me the ECU also.
I called this morning..and they said...no it doesn't... no ECU.. we will only give you a new set of fuel pump and etc.....so no need for ECU.
NOW... I really think that $3000 is a fucking RIP OFF. with NO front intercooler too. (it's cool man)
SO now..I a mback t othe custom setup. But do I need ECU? you konw any website that I can order one? or DO I NEED ONE? Guys...hit me back with some (ALOT) of info on this ECU man.. Thanks alot. Gil :wary:thumbsup

NO, you DON'T need an ECU to install or run a turbokit. The stock ECU takes to boost quite well in fact. Your friend is an idiot.

you should really buy a book on turbocharging or do some research or something because, from the looks of it, you dont know what your doing. :nono
I, as well as everyone else here im sure, would recommend 'Maximum Boost' by Corky Bell. good investment imo.
