39815, T25 turbo is good?
Posted by gilee_8, Feb-24-03 02:50 PM
Sup guys..>I finally decided to just buy the turbo and the manifold seperately.

But I want to know if this T25 turbo is a good choice for me.
The deal said "This is a NEW TB2568 part# 466409-5002. It comes with a wastegate built in and the hardware to install it nuts, bolts, gaskets etc. This turbo is fast spooling and can support 275hp+. The A/R is Comp .48 Turbine .67 They work great on 1.5-2.6 Liter engines.
This T25 is bigger then the Eclipse T25. It will flow much more!!"

What does it means it's bigger then the eclipse T25?
ALso, will this turbo be too big for my 1995 eclipse GS car?

Coz I don't want to push my car too much.. no more then 8PSI and I just want my car to be around 240-260hp... (just adding the turbo and intercooler mod)

Is this turbo a great choice for me? or just too small or too big for the power I am aiming for?
Thanks guys...
This time, I did my research!

Too small for what you are aiming for. You'll be lucky to hit 200 with the t-25. Think about it this way, stock GS-Ts run like 11 psi and they are rated at 210 at the crank. There are some variations of the t-25 that I have seen, none of which are all that impressive.

I had 90% of a t-25 turbo kit put together when I decided to scrap it. I wasn't about to invest all that money to still be slower than a stock GS-T. IMO do something with a t3/t4 or a 16g. Those turbos make it more realistic to reach your HP goals, but even with those you might fall a bit short until you rebuild and turn up the boost.

what about a t-28 instead? the guy who helped me with my turbo install (has a black TSi) did the t-TooSmall to the t-28 upgrade and he seemed to like it a lot. i guess it flows a lot better than the t-25. no one the board has really talked about using one before though...
