39716, Boost question...
Posted by ClipseRST, Feb-23-03 11:41 AM
What would I need to achieve higher boost on a HRC Stage 2... I want to boost around 15psi. Im pretty sure they rate it around 9. I would need a boost controller I know to set the boost higher. But what else would I have to change to make this higher boost level.

Howell Bottom End Kit, a new few pump, bigger injectors is some stuff that comes to mind

Ok lets say I have the bottom end already down. But have stock injectors and fuel pump... If I set the boost level to like 15 psi what well happen. Well it boost that level but I end up messing things up since Im not getting enough fuel and what not. Or well it just boost lower automatically?

u will blow ur engine because of improper fuel levels. im guessing u have some sort of fmu.... u need to tune that, get some larger injectors, some sort on fuel management system cant hurt, ive heard people saying u need an aftermarket ignition system too but im not sure if its needed for 15psi.

You will go extremely lean, likely ending up detonating and blowing your motor.

235 cc injectors are no where near big enough to run 15lbs of boost.

if you have the accel in line fuel pump, then you won't need a new one. You will definitely need new fuel injectors. Our ecu's can handle 30ibs with a fpr anthing higher may just confuse it. 15psi of boost without some kind of ignition control is an unpredictable outcome. Some guys are able to do it with out and others need it because their engine may have blown. Try it and let me know the outcome.

You want to run 15psi on a stock fuel system?
In short this is what you would have to look forward to:

And you car in your garage like this:

I was dumb and didn't get any pics with the head off, but I put the new pistons in with the block in the car, Just ask EZ, he was laughing and helping us.
