39629, Buying Turbo parts...... NEED HELP. Posted by gilee_8, Feb-22-03 06:42 AM
Ok, this is the problem. I see this deal online. and it said it comes with a turbo, an intake manifold, and the stock intercooler. for like $400. Is that a good deal? all used for couple months thou.
Questions: 1) is intake manifold the same as exhaust manifold? 2) If this turbo especially the manifold was installed on a GST eclipse, will the manifold and stuff fit the GS eclipse?? 3) Finally, what MAINLY do I have to look for when buying a used turbo?
Thanks man. I really think this is a great deal! (what you guys think) But I never installed or saw anyone did it before, But I did read alot of forum from this site...so I really wnat to make sure it will fit my 1995 GS eclipse before I buy it!
----Yo Yo... Eclipse is the bomb! -----

if it is made for the gst/gsx eclipse, it will not fit. they have different engines then us, gst/x=4g63 mitsu engine, gs/rs= 420a chrysler engine. and an intake manifold has nothing to do with an exhaust manifold. intake manifold is where the air enters your engine, exhaust manifold is where the gasses lave the engine, it wont work for your car

Hi, thanks for the reply. But can I still buy it and use the turbo and the intercooler? And just buy another manifold for my GS?

if u get the turbo from a gst/gsx that is a 14b or t-25 depending on the year it was on the car..
to get these turbos to fit u need a custome manifold i can provide u with one but we are backed up for a while and not taking order till we get things straightened out..
u can use the intercooler if u get custom piping made, (alot of people do this)
u will need oil lines, a BOV (1g dsm bov's are great) fuel system and many other parts...
