hey guys...

well, its almost time b4 i get my car fixed. to all whats going on, i had a dillema with my car detonating since i was running lean. well lessons learned and more to follow. i'm about to get my car done, when one day i got my registration in the mail. and what did it say? i need a smog test before i get my registration. i was like, "oh $hit" and people living in cali, you know what i mean. so, im back for another question, or questionsss..

1. If i get forged piston running at lower compression, would the test notice that?

2. How much can a "stock" piston hold in boost? I was running 6psi, failed on me, but thats because i was leaning.

3. Whats the pro's and con's if i get forged piston....but "standard bore" "standard compression"?

4. When i take my car to shop for a smog test, and i get a SMFU or some adjustable fuel pressure reg, would the tester fail me since i have it attached? and would they say the same thing if i still have my S-AFC attached to my EMU?

Yah, my smog is not till APRIL of this year, and im getting my car to the shop end of this month. Let me know, also let me know if you're around SOCAL if you have "connections" to those kind of smog shops;)

wow..thanks for the reply. i guess alot of 2gnt eclipse owners dont live in California at all. well, we all have advantage and disadvantage, its cool detroit dont have emission laws, too bad during winter you cant hardly drive your car and you have to purchase mostly online than what we have here in cali. :*

someone here in socal saw this mexican dude infront of his smog shop eatin a burrito and paid him extra to pass the pass with an hrc kit. he did the whole testing procedures and what not but passed him... i don't know how much he paid extra though. maybe he'll see this post.

yeah, I think he said he drove around untill he saw a guy out front of the shop eating a burrito or something and said how bout i give you $50 extra and you don't pop the hood. So the guy passed him.

ahahhahah look at my earlier posts about the smog nazis. Good luck dude your gonna need it, every shop in my area would not smog my car and ref kept on asking for stupid numbers. You need to get a hook up. or use a special trick hehe.... your best bet is to put the NA stuff back on. I hope you didn't weld your exhuast up and stuff like a dumbass like me :P

Actually that was me, in the city of Corona, with my Blazer that was Super Charged. You have to add that the dude was drinking a Corona on a public street too. :)
He had me hang the sniffer a little away from the exhaust pipe, so it ran numbers better than a brand new honda. I gave him in between 20 and 50 over, can't remember that was almost 2 years ago.

Hey guys we are trying to work on some sollutions as we speak, forging EEO stickers and all, but we havn't figured out a fail safe plan yet.

One of the guys from Club DSM that was at the races this weekend, said he took his GS with a star kit to a local shop, and they passed it, just as long as he had a cat on. /shrug
That will be sweet if that is the case.
