A good friend of mine with a 99GS just called me, he managed to slide his eclipse into a concrete barrier on the interstate. From what he told me, he the car is totaled, and he will probably be using any insurance money to buy a 2G GSX. He mentioned he may be willing to sell me his old kit off of his wrecked GS fairly cheap. Are there any things that I should look for with a used HRC stage 2 kit? He got this one when they first came out, and it cost him right around $4000. So, if I were to be able to pick it up for about $1000-$1500 or so, would this be a good deal? Did the older kits have any parts that typically failed and beared replacing?? Any input would be apprechiated. TIA!

I think thats a great price for a stage 2 kit.

Ya, excellent price. There really isn't much that can go wrong with the kit. Make sure no cracks in the manifold, the turbo's ok, and there is probably a few other things to look at. They go foraround $3200 if i am not mistaken.

Thats a good price! I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up if I were you.
