I'm looking to go to a 1:1 Fuel Pressure Regulator. Just wondering on what people run and what works best. Thanks

Get the one corbin uses for the 8 injector, it's only like 120 or so at summit.

"The Aeromotive 13109 is a very nice unit with less than 1 psi variation from cold to hot (cheap ones can vary 15 psi)." part # is from corbin's site and summit has the price, I think it's 129.99 or so.

I use it too.

It's a GREAT unit. It's rock solid in its performance without any fluctuation issues.

Man, after using both the Vortech SFMU, and now the Aeromotive unit, the troubles related to the old Cartech seem ridiculous (and ancient history) given the quality of these other pieces. One should simply expect a FPR to not fluctuate and to perform basically it's only function. What a concept? :rolleyes

What size injectors and fuel pump do I need to run a 1-1 FPR?

well u need a standlone to do it witha a 4 injector setup...

with 8 u can use 19# or 24# 30# doesn't mater that much, an accell inline pump would satisfy everything u need..

The Bosch 1:1 is a solid unit too, never had any issues w/ it.

Does anyone have any information on how reliable the stock turbo model's 1:1 FPR works? I'm planning on using it right now, but I really haven't heard anything about it - good or bad.

I wouldn't use it. Apparently, from using high performance fuel pumps, such as walbros, you can overrun those stock FPR's thereby not getting the fuel pressures you need. That's why, when using higher performance fuel pumps, 4g63 people seek alternative fuel pressure regulators as well.

Apparently, they have a few 4g63-specific fpr's available for them.

DOH! Yeah, Buschur Racing has the SX fpr. Bolts right onto the rail in the stock location. But I think I'll just go with the Aeromotive fpr - the SX is more expensive and I think there may be clearance issues(due to where I'm putting rail). Thanks

My setup is 4 50lb MSD injectors with a bosch 1:1 fpr and the Greddy Emanage.

I would still like to see a picture of a "Bosch 1:1" does anyone have a pic or know how much HRC wants for one??? I suppose I can call. Are they the only ones that sell em??

I've got a used bosch 1:1 (I think I still have it). Its all scratched up, but it'll probably do ya. It is not adjustable, so you may not want to use it with an 8-injector. Gimme $20 and its yours.

so what would the idle fuel pressure be if it's non-adjustible corbin? I'm interested. See if ya can find it. and yes I am installing the 8 injector setup. Corbin do ya think the stockers and some 30lb (310cc). It would be about a 545cc total. secondaries will take me into the 400WHP range?

You would have a static 45psi. I would get something larger for the secondaries if you are going to do it. That is not enough. At the very least use some 36lb injectors. I have almost as much fuel pressure as you would with jsut 4 injectors.

Its probably the same one Murix uses. If you want 8 injectors, I suggest an adjustable FPR. I've found that adjusting fuel pressure can smooth the transition from 4 to 8 injector duty. And, I suggest bigger secondaries also. You can play with the hp output and fuel needs numbers on my fuel pages. That would give you an idea of how much fuel you needed.

I see. Another reason to get the Aeromotive - Thanks Corbin.

Corbin this might be a little much but is it possible to run my 48lb injectors as my secondaries and the stockers of course as the primaries?? what are the con's of this setup?? That would be 739cc under boost :thumbsup

There is no real upper limit on what the EIC can control. The only issue comes when you go so big that they can't accurately provide the small amount of fuel necessary right above 0 psig. I think Jason is running 42s with no problems, so I wouldn't worry.

I do not have the system in yet but from what I gather there is a "studder" or miss endering boost? Is true? Or is it possible to have a smooooooth transition into boost when the secondaries come on? If so how do I go about this smooth transition?

Holy HP Greg - that's good for over 500 hp. I'm gonna use the 390s from a 1g auto - gets me to 625cc per cylinder which is good to about 450 hp.

Its good to hear that the 440s run without problems. That was actually one of the issues that I was going to dig the archives for. :thubmsup

Yes, I've been running with secondary 42lber's for a long time. (The Ford Lightening green tops) I got them from an ASOG'er for a bargain.

I keep my idle at stock, as with everything else. I do keep my MAP sensitivity high, at about 75(EIC setting). Also, in terms of when the fueling "kicks in", I have mine set to about 115kPa's which is kind of high, but it's what works for me. I've really done very little in terms of tuning though. It's pretty easy to tune, and I tune my setup very conservatively in leui of my stock internals.

I have noticed though, that when I take the talon on roadtrips, to different elevations, the transition will be affected. Obviously, this isn't really a big deal from a practicality setup, but it's worthy to note that settings will different from region to region.

On another note, I haven't called the machine shop today, but they told me earlier this week, my rebuilt engine should be done about now. (JE's 8.8:1 and Crower's)
