38868, How hard is it to change the endtanks on a starion fmic? Posted by Axewhlder, Feb-10-03 05:47 AM
I just got my starion saturday and I want to mount it ASAP. Problem is, the endtank inlet/outlets are like 1.5 inches in diameter (estimated) and the piping for the HRC kit is what, 2.25? Is it possible to reweld in/out pipes on the fmic or can I just use couplers to attach it to the HRC piping? I'm also going to get 2.25 mandrel bends from JCWhitney. Thanks for the help.

You can use couplers to make it work but this will be a restriction in the flow which can slow down how fast you spool and can also cause a lot more pressure loss than a properly modified one will.

So you'd recommend altering it before I mount it? It would probably make it alot easier then messing with different sized couplers. Would changing the inlet/outlet mess anything up flowwise for an intercooler that came stock with smaller ins and outs?
