3885, CAM GEARS and turbo setup Posted by DSMNT96, Apr-17-01 10:14 AM
Does anyone in here know what the best cam gear setting is for turboed 420As? I have AEM cam gears on my car right now and they are not setup properly, but I will have them set correctly before I install the turbo. I was going to set the gears to the recommended settings that you guys have suggested to me naturally aspirated, which is advance intake 2 degrees and retard exhaust 2 degrees. I just want to make sure that this doesnt hinder my turbo's performance when I install it. If so then what is the factory setting for the gears? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

try +2 intake and +2 exhaust for quicker spool and power. I don't know for sure but pressure is only built when the exhaust Valves are closed and with intake open. If it's closed a bit longer boost could spool quicker and make power sooner. Give it a try
