listen i did a search and found too many thread that had nothing to do with it. what exactly is it and what does it do for the turbo kit.

It's a check valve that is installed between the MAP sensor and intake plenium. It prevents positive manifold pressure (boost) from getting to the MAP sensor. If the ECU is inputted a positive pressure value from the sensor, you'll get fuel cut and hesitations. Positive pressure can also damage the MAP sensor itself.

Before the Missing Link, we had to use voltage clamps. They are often problematic because they don't always clamp the voltage well enough and they can't prevent damage to the MAP sensor.

The missing link is a simple check valve. It prevents the PCM from cutting fuel once pressure in the manifold is detected (pressure = boost). The missing link smoothes the transition from vacuum to boost without letting the computer see it. The computer believes that it is seeing a vacuum state.


In the HRC turbo kits, it replaces the fuel cut defender (referred to as the black box). I have used the missing link right from the start and never have installed this black box. I believe it is some sort of resister that prevents that MAP sensor from seeing certain voltages. From what I've read, they are not reliable.
