What is the best way to find exhaust leaks???

Places like manifold to head, turbo to manifold, etc, etc.

My favorite is the tell-tale black soot streak. If you see one, you've got a leak. But if it's a new leak and it hasn't had time to soot up the bay - I just use my hand to feel for gas escaping at the joints and whatnot. It's best to do that right after you start it cold.

The way I checked for leaks was by noise. I have the HRC downpipe (for now) that clamps to the stock downpipe and I can hear a ticking or a puffing sound. I also put my hand in the general area and can feel the air through the leak - just be careful not to touch the pipe. I've never had a leak anywhere else but I guess if it is in the area of where the manifold bolts to the block, I would wait until the car is cold and then start it. This way the motor is cool to the touch for about 10 - 15 minutes and you could feel around the area for leaks. Just don't do it after a long or hard drive.

I have a massive 'ticking' sound where the HRC and stock DP meets. That piece of shit clamp ain't doing shit. Besides the noise, you can also feel air coming out of the leak area.

They sell IR temp readers for pretty cheap now. I work for a calibration company and they calibrate them, they work pretty good, I use them when I suspect a hard to get to exhaust leak.

you can do it the OG way. use a candle...yes a candle, but light it forst ;) the other way would be to use a piece of paper or someother material that is stiff, but light enought to get blown by a light direct puff of air. Oh and nothing that will melt.
