38138, EGT probe and HRC stage 2

I've noticed that some of you have your probe on the exhaust manifold and some have it on the downpipe. Where is it suppose to go? And if it goes on the downpipe will the ERT dp have a threaded hole for the probe? Sorry if you think this is a dumb question but i can't seem to find out where exactly the probe is suppose to go.

It's up to you really, if you want to get the readings before or after turbo. The readings you get by having it in the manifold will give you a better view of just how hot things are and if you need to back of. Going after turbo takes a little more guess work IMO since it will have a colder reading and you might not know for sure when your about to have a meltdown. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this...

Put the probe on the #4 runner (driver's side) about 3-4 inches from the head. I'd like to advise people from sticking it in the DP, because the turbo can affect the temp. readings by as much as 200-300 degrees.

Yes, put it in the #4 runner on the exhaust manifold. You will get more accurate readings......

I heard the best reading is always the 3rd runner from the throttle body, which is where I had it tapped. Here's a pic of mine.

However I have seen seen it everywhere imaginable.:wary
