38061, Greddy SP catback with stage II? Posted by soulcontroller, Jan-26-03 07:49 PM
Well, I have a Greddy SP cat back and I'm going stage II this spring. I don't want to replace my exhaust, but if i'm not mistaken the piping is only 2"? Anyone have any suggestions?
I've grown quite fond of the SP sound. Not too ricy, a nice deep tone.

keep the muffler and resonator and just get larger piping to replace the greddy piping. that way, same sound and better air flow. later

yea, it was already on when i bought the car. im going to have to measure to see if the gst piping was used or not, cause thats 2.5".

I thought the gst and gs/rs piping were the same except for the high flow muffler and extra resonator, correct me if I'm wrong

tip is the same between the gst and gs/rs, but the piping is .5" bigger with the gst. well, 10 more mm anyway.

I believe the SP is 2.25 piping. You defiantely want to enlarge that somehow, either get 3" piping from a local muffler shop and have it installed or upgrade your exhuast to the EVO or something. You'll have too much backpressure.

In order: Mirror Tint|Grillcraft grill|SprilMax|GST Exhaust|Front/Rear strut bars|EBC brakes|Brembo Crossdrill/slotted rotors|AEM CAI|NGK Plugs|Magnecor Wires|Koni

I had the NA greddy piping on my car when i bought it.... was boosting 18 psi on it, whoops... when i reworked the exhaust, it was almost a night and day difference in spool up... I'd just sell it on ebay... I boght a mangaflow straight through race muffler for ~100 bucks, got a new downpipe made for ~180, and catback made for ~150, sold the greddy SP on ebay for over 300... so it worked out real well, my advice is do the same thing :-), you'll be very pleased.

I have an N1 catback all my pipes size are 2.25 inches from the downpipe to the catback and now I'm boosting 8lbs I feel a lot of back pressure I hate it cause everytime my auto shifts it sound like someone just broke wind like bad........ I'm going to get a loca muffler shop to make me a custom 3 inch piping for my exhaust.
