Ive got a spare nitrous bottle just sitting around, and i have access to CO2 for REAL cheap. ive contemplated using some bendable aluminum pipeing with tiny holes on it, so spray the CO2 on the FMIC to help cool the air even more. we have done this before on my friends Turbo civic hatch, and it seemed to work well. CO2 is MUCH cheaper than nitrous, since i would be going through it pretty quickly. also would only use it at the track...any opinions?

Hell if you can get it cheap, and hook it up to work like intended, then i say go for it. I'm not sure how much Co2 cools when vented to the atmosphere, but it should cool it more than if it wasnt there on the IC. Only thing to find out, is that if the race tracks will allow it. Not sure how that setup complies with the rules and safety regulations.

If its in gas form I don't think they can do much about it. Its liquid that falls onto the track that they tend to get pissy about.

Go for it man! It sure won't hurt to give it a shot. In the hot summer when doing back to back full boost runs, I'm sure it will help cool things down a bit for ya :)

I wondered this as well. I have some co2 tanks from my paintball days and a coiled remote which is basically a hose running from the tank to the gun with a valve to open and close so you can twist a knob and co2 comes out. I thought about rigging the end of the remote in front of my intercooler to spray it. I have sprayed things with it before and it makes them very cold. When i put my kit on ill look for a way to rig up my remote and give it a try and let you guys know the outcome as well.

You will have a very hard time finding a shop that will fill a blue nitrous tank with CO2.

Now, on the other hand, I'd be happy to trade newly inspected 15lb co2 tanks for 10 or 15lb nitrous tanks.

I personally have the nos set up. I made my own 3 row sprayer. I thought about running co2 for the cost but there is just something about putting depleated oxygen right infront on the intake that just doesnt sound right. Another problem I ran into was the solenoid. I found that with all the holes you will be spraying something equivelant to a 1000 shot. Well those little soenoids wont flow that. I locked mine up. You are going to need a big shot noid or for just about the same price i went with the remote bottle valve from nos works like a champ. late mike

I can fill the tanks myself. a local track owner said he wouldnt allow it on his track, cause it would freeze on the intercooler, and then almost instantly melt to the track as a liquid, which=not good. he also said there isnt much he can do to stop me from using for ONE run to see how it does too... :-)

dsmtuners had a kit going for this c02 with the piping works great they were selling a kit for like 125$

ehh antoher thought to this setup..you could use a Nitrous WOT switch to activate your co2 solenoids. This way, you can drive with boost, mainly light boost, not using up any co2. Then when you want WOT boosted runs, it will activate. You can also wire up a toggle switch in the car to cut out any power to the co2 system when your not racing or at the track to help conserve the co2. Hmmm..this sounds like fun to try out :P
