Ok getting ready to buy a IC that will fit perfect on my Avenger. Thing is the actual core is on 20"x5"x2" is this enough to support 300+ HP w/ out getting heatsoaked too bad? I know no one can tell me for sure because there are different core brands but just in general is that a descent sized core? TIA!!!

thats a good sized core, SMIC's are good to like 15psi for decent cooling
here is a site for some nice looking pretty cheap intercoolers, not sure how good they fight heat soak, but all ive heard about them was good...

hehe, I already have that page in my favorites ;) I can get the one I'm talking about for $250 shipped. I think I'm going to get it. I know 1G's get into like high 12's w/ the sidemount and that's not that big.

I did some checking and removed my previous paragraph. That 20X6 intercooler should be just fine. If your boost is below 15psi, my guess is your intake temps should not be more than 10-15 degrees higher than outside air temp.

You should call my friend Don Polk. http://www.polkperformance.com and check his pricing. He uses griffin and spearco cores on his custom intercoolers. Prices are VERY fair.

I plan on getting a new one from him in a couple weeks.

That fmic does look pretty good for about $250. I wonder how well it flows though? My Starion heat soaks pretty quick (after hard pulls and boosting ~15 psi.) In any case, it will cost you more to buy a Starion, then to have that modified. So, I guess it is a good alternative to the Starion fmic.

Gotta see if it's worth it, if something flows the same/worse than my 1g, then im not gonna mess with it.
