37453, O2 housing help
Posted by Hamgumball, Jan-16-03 12:07 PM
I'm trying to make a downpipe, the only problem is I need an O2 housing. Is it possible to weld the existing O2 housing on my custom one. Or weld some nuts to the downpipe for the threads? I heard of someone hear saying something about spark plug fouler?

I need ideas here, thanks.

Any muffler shop should be able to make you an O2 bung. they could probably just cut a hole, put in a steel coupling of some sort, then tap it to fit the O2 threads. shouldnt be too much $$$ either.

Yeah, you can also get weld in bungs from alot of places.

Jeg's - http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=86589&prmenbr=361
Summit - part PRF-60406 for about the same price as Jeg's.
Burns Stainless sells a stainless version for $25. They'll even weld it in for you - http://www.burnsstainless.com/Hardware/Tabs-O2-Rings/tabs-o2-rings.html#O2%20Sensor%20Rings

I used a spark plug fouler for a ford... It has the thread pattern we needed.
When you look at the fouler you will be able to see it is a little too deep, and at the bottom of it there is a cup with a hole. Cut the cup off the bottom, and put it in your downpipe :P

Edit: 2 foulers cost $3 at pep boys.
