37145, Want to start a Cat-Back thread Posted by 98RsT, Jan-09-03 08:06 AM
Hi guys, Currently, I had to switch back to my stock exhaust with the exception of a muffler. My custom pipe went to poop.
I was talking to Kaiser, and he can get a 3" cat-back system for the upper $300's and it looks sweet.
I wanted to see some of the deals and looks people are going with, what size... That type of stuff.
Thanks,
Edit: I started this in the turbo section because I am Turbo, and I want to see what the other Turbo guys have done.... THANKS

Gutted cat, 2.5" resonator after cat, 3" press bent custom piping from resonator back, going into a Borla SS 3" inlet oval muffler. About 100 for piping and another 100 for muffler. I got the hookup though... Flows good and sounds good. If you want decent piping that flows good, go with the Pacesetter 2.5" piping. Put on your muffler of choice. That piping should flow plenty up to at least 15 psi plus. I believe its about 160 bucks.

Check JCWhitney.com, I got my 2.5 inch Borla cat-back for 315 shipped a while back. It's a true 2.5 in piping, I measured the whole piping using a clamp ruler, and it's pretty close to it plus\minus a few millimeters. I've heard Greddy Evo piping fluctuate in size of each bend. Anyway, my setup is crap HRC DP, 2.5 in. testpipe, 2.5 in. Borla catback.

If you've got the money to get a Thermal 3" then go with it. Great product IMO.

Slight customed/welded 2.25 Hahn DP, to a stock kitty, then 2.75" mandrel RSR catback.
I'm trying to locate a 2.75" converter.
I love the RSR. Not loud, flows, comes with papers, muffler is not blingy (right Pnoymahal?), and a full catback for 325$.
If you are interested, hit up Al at turboimport.com (I believe that is the correct addy). He might still have the RSR at that price. Get them whlie you can as RSR is coming back into the states, hence price hike.
Otherwise, where is that DAMN ERT downpipe. Its been how long now?

bling bling is correct bro... you like how my apexi looks? ( look at my sig ).. hehe... .i got the stock hrc thingy, then stock dp, stock cat, and of course apexi world sport ( gst model ) ... if i had the money i would do a custom exhaust setup so i wont get as much bling bling crap.. hehe
