This looks to me like a damn good way to prevent over boost! Anyone use it? I really like this idea..

how often does the wastegate get stuck or fail to operate, anyone had that happen???? Im just wondering for my info

Well you have my attention..I will give you 40 right now for that greddy unit. Let me know. I would love to set my wastegate back to stock and let the pop off valve do its work.

That would make the turbo work harder creating more heat into the intake piping. Basically you would be asking the turbo to build boost beyond its efficiency and let the popoff valve bleed off the extra pressure. Bad idea.

Popoff valve does exactly what it says. Protects against over boost or spikes. That is all it would be good for.

The money spent on that would be better served going to a good boost controller or Tial Wastegate. IMHO

I just seamed to notice a lot of blown engines from over boost. or boost spikes. I thought that it could be a nice safeguard. RXR it was actually different then the greddy unit. But looked pretty nice non the less :)

1.) Popoff Valves are not to be used to control boost, you will over spin the turbo and will wear out the bearings VERY quickly.

2.) As it's been said you use a pop off valve for overboost conditions, not to control boost in any way.

3.) You use one in conjunction with with a Blow off valve, just to make things clear. =)
