1. What should my EGT's be at stage 1?
2. My friend was watching the boost gauge for me when I floored it and he said that I jumped to 6 or possibly 7 psi, but I'm only a stage 1 and I thought the waste gate only allowed 5. Do I need a boost contoller to avoid overboosting like this?
3. What exactly does SMFU stand for and how is it different from the regulator provided by Hahn?
4. Will running higher fuel pressure than what Hahn suggests mean higher EGT's?

Check the vaccum hose you have going to the wastegate, make sure it is secure, that happens when my wastegate actually loosens from the exhaust manifold... but I have an external one.
>3. What exactly does SMFU stand for and how is it different >from the regulator provided by Hahn? I think you are asking about the SFMU (Super Fuel Management Unit), Same type of controls as the hahn one, just FAR Superior to it.

they should be between 1500 and 1550 (at WOT) unless you do an insanely long pull, they may creep close to 1600. having an intercooler helps a lot.

have you messed with your wastegate signal hose? when i was stage 1, i couldn't get more than 3 to 4 with the sensor hooked directly to the compressor housing. when i re-routed it to the back of my intake manifold i got exactly 5, which is what i wanted. you should check your vacuum lines and make sure they're not fubar or anything, if i were you i would not let things go above 6 psi at the very most without an intercooler.

now here's a good "things we've seen before" subject. the "HRC billet fuel pressure regulator" is a 12:1 fuel pressure regulator, it increaces the fuel pressure 12 psi for every 1 psi of boost that it sees. it's not very well made, and a lot of people including myself call it the "CrapTech" (instead of CarTech) fuel pressure regulator. the regulator with the hahn kit has rumored to randomally alter the idle/boosted fuel pressure depending on the alingment of the planets (well, not really, more like the temperature of the unit). the Vortech S-FMU (not SMFU, or STFU, or GLUE, or anything like that) is a "super fuel manangement unit" or a top of the line fuel pressure regulator. "discs" can be bought for it from Vortech and interchanged to alter the rising rate from 12:1 (the default for the S-FMU) to a lot of other numbers like 4:1, 3:1, 6:1, 10:1, you get the idea. the Vortech unit is a much more quality regulator than the one that comes with the hahn kit. it's pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for.

depends on how high. if you run 125 psi of fuel pressure at 1 psi of boost, you'll be insanely rich and develop afterburn which is when unburnt fuel burns in the exhaust system. this will result in low cylinder temperatures, but very high exhaust temperatures. if you run a little higher than what hahn suggests you'll loose a little of power due to an excessively rich condition and you'll just waste a lot of gas. it will lower EGT's slightly though. i've found hahn's reccomendations pretty accurate, however, i ran about 95 psi at stage 1 and 120 at stage 2 just to be safe and my engine still blew up. you tell me.

So I just heard to keep EGT's Below 1300, and then below 1600... Can we get some clarification here? I have heard it being 1600, but if it's not I would really like to know :)
