has anyone actually tried to cool the fuel entering the engine? since it's being sprayed just before the valves at the very end of the intake process, if it was ice cold... seems like a good last chance to try to cool down the whole air/fuel mixture before it goes into the engine in an effort to lower EGT's. has anyone ever put any sort of cooling device just before the fuel rail or whatnot? or am i just on crack?

I've heard of that, but I really doubt that the effort used to cool fuel, that eventually bleeds into your combustion chamber for a plus 1000 degree explosion, will really pay big dividends. It's sort of like expending a lot of effort in cooling the intake charge before it goes in your turbo compressor and heats up after spinning to a compressed charge at tens of thousands of revolutions.

I always recommend spending that time and effort in cooling the actual compressed air AFTER it leaves the compressor in the form of better intercooling or even newer ideas like using CO2 or N20 to cool the intercooler. I think you'd find exponentially bigger gains after doing those sorts of things.

Bottom line: Cooling fuel MAY make some slight gains, but I'd think very little.

fuely cooley is what your talking about summit has a moroso kit that is nice or u can line a tin can with copper or metal fuel hose and pour ice in for fuel cooling ive thought of this none thinks its gonna be worth it though...

i thought that if the fuel was cooler it would but i dunno witht he vast difference in opperating temperature, i know the carb'd v8's saw a decent gain from cold fuel,

i thought of another thing when fuel pressure is raised doesn't that create heat?

most of the people i talked to said it wouldn't make any difference if i cooled the fuel...

Instead of spending all the time and effort in cooling the fuel, why not try Water injection? Just search the web and you'll find lots of information. I'll try to post some links when i can.
