you can use the mechanical oil pressure gauge into your passenger comparment but you need to buy the autometer ss braided line or any ss braided line. But if dont want the oil enter to the passenger comparment buy the electric oil press gauge. My friend is using an autometer mechanical oil press into the passenger side without any problem. hope this help

I ran a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the car for 2 years with ZERO problems. Just make sure everything is tight on it.

I'm sorry it was an electrical oil press guage after all. But thanks for the info none the less and anything on doing an electrical guage install would be great. I think i saw a post the other day on it.

Why is everyone deathly afraid of the mechanical pressure gauge? They are more accurate and react faster than electrical guages.

I've had it in the car for a couple years without a problem. Just run the nylon line so it doesn't rub against any sharp objects and you will have no problems. It's all in the installation. I added some wire loom over it for color a while back which you can do to help protect it alittle if you are worried, or use the ss line.
