What did you guys use to replace the factory fog lights. I was angry when i realized i could not use them. Just need to get some ideas to fill up the holes.

so don't move the fogs..f some stupid design flaws...what i did was cut the metal to the right of the radiator on the driverside(its triangluar in shape and is between the frame)...we used a carbide porting bit w/ the new craftsman rotozip thing(if you guys are going to do any porting or cutting you need this tool, its so so powerful and you can buy an attachment flex arm..its the best thing for porting i've ever seen, it destroys any phenumatic tool available)we then took the pieces that are supposed to go to the top of the intercooler(inlet) and did a little fabricating...the one piece that is supposed to take out the fog light is straight then does two ninetys.the other pieces is supposed to wrap around and meet back up to the turbo...well you've already got that long neck around (u shaped basically) the fender well so you can use that for the hole you cut and go right through it..now just use the long pipe that is supposed to take out your fog light to meet up to that , put a silicone sleeve and clamps there and connect the end inside the car to the compressor houseing and vala, your done..you still have fogs, you just eliminated 3 feet of intercooler piping and made things a little more efficent..if someone can host a pic for me i've got a shot of it from above the car so you can see what i'm talking about....

Well I ripped off my bumper today and gave it a whirl. It was actually very easy to do. Best of all I have my fogs back:). I do not know how to put pictures on the board yet, however I would be glad to send some pictures of the mod to anyone interested. Drop me an e-mail if ya want them Superjet3@aol.com
Thanks,
Paul

very good young grasshopper..thats exactly what i did..but i removed that hole piece where you just made room for the piping..word to the wise would be to take a dremel and a sanding wheel and smooth out that edge so it doesn't wear right through your silicone or the piping itself...nice pics, that looks EXACTLY like mine...

The picture where it is cut all rough was just the begining. I filed it down and made it all pretty. Then I put a piece of fuel hose to protect the IC hose. I guess I could have cut the whole thing out though.
Thanks
Paul

I also did some cutting and used my stock fog lights until I killed bambi's mom and insurance gave me like $460 for my stock fogs (pocketed $). Wasn't hard to fit the piping w/ minor cutting.

Would it be better to do that even if you didnt have fog lights? I can only asume that minimal piping is best and mor eefficient. I have an RS, hence no fog lights.

I would reccomend it. It's a hell of alot less piping. Plus it looks alot cleaner. Dont now why star didnt do this in the first place. Well, if you do it good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
