36591, Car storage?
Posted by mitsudsr, Dec-29-02 06:37 AM
Hey guys I need to know a few tips on how to store my car for about 6 months. I am in the army and will be leaving here very shortly for about 6 months maybe more. My car will be in a military storage area but can I leave it alone for that long? Some of my friends say that leaving it alone will be bad for all of my seals and gaskets. My options are very limited what do you guys think would be the best way to prevent any problems?

So leaving the car with out running it for so long the seals and gaskets in the turbo and eng. will not go bad? The car will not be started at all the whole time I am gone it will be locked up.

Make sure you put a bottle of fuel stabilizer in your gas tank or you wont be able to start your car at all! And trust me...you dont want to drain a full tank of gas from your car hehe..

Should be able to find it in any of your local auto parts store for a few bucks.

Other than that, worst thing that can happen is that your battery will run out of charge but nothing that a jumpstart wont fix.

Thanks guys that is what I thought that I would just change fluids when I got back. But when I get back I plan on buying msd, safc, clutch, and 550's. Can't wait to get there and back.
