I am having a big problem with the gasket that goes between the wastegate and the manifold on the star kit. The gasket will start to leak exhaust after about a week of being put on. What can I do do stop this? This just recently started to happen. TIA

maybe you could scrape off the gaskets that are most likely melted on and smooth out the flange on the manifold and wastegate. i had this problem once and everyone told me if the 2 surfaces are perfectly flat, then i wouldnt need a gasket.

Thanks for the reply. Am I going to have to take it somewhere to get the flanges smoothed out?

i had this problem when i first installed the kit so i didnt have to do any smoothing or anything. both surfaces were perfectly flat and i had no problems afterwards, but i dont see why it is leaking with your gasket. maybe you should try another gasket and tighten it down really good. it shouldnt really be leaking like that. i would try another gasket and if it still doesnt work then try metal to metal. and to answer your question, as long as you get all of the gaket off the flanges that probly melted on there, then the 2 surfaces should be flat already. so you can do it yourself.

Well, without a gasket it leaks a little. I put another new gasket on and it works for now. I'll have to take it to my mechanic and see what he suggests too, in case it starts to leak again. Thanks for the help.
