36255, glad to own a dsm

i figured i would put this in here because most of you turbo guys run these times. while watching the speed channel tonight they had on a show about the new corvettes. they said from their testing the new 50th anniversary vette runs a 13.4 1/4 mile time. that is pathetic. the turbo dsm's are running that with a couple thousand into them. for a 350 hp car that is just sickening to spend that much money on a car like that. again, proud owner of a dsm.

Thats actually really not to bad for a stock car to be running 13's. As for it being rated at 350hp its prob. not whp. I have seen 500hp vipers run like high 14's to low 14's. Most of the boys on here that have well over 10g's into their car are trying for the low 13's. They are about 300whp. So IMO for a stock car, that kicks ass.
But Nothing can replace my baby :)

** That and this should prob. be in the pits or the performance/engine section...

Praise the dsm gods.

The reason we aren't faster is primarily traction :)

i seriously doubt the statement about a 500 hp viper runnig low 14s, come on now, thats a v-10 motor in a not so heavy car. ive got vids on my cpu that 450 hp runnin low 12s easily on street tires. so 500 hp in a viper outa get you high 11s, maybe more with slicks. .. but yes, 13.4 is pretty good for a stock car.

I had a DSM run a 13.2 pass (GSX) (first gen)

with about 250 bucks in mods.

$10 for boost controller

$80 for boost and a/f guages

$60 2nd Gen MAF

$100 Walboro Fuel pump

You just can't beat the value of theese stock turbocharged all wheel drive cars!

boost was set at, 18 psi, and it had a modified intake system, and ported manifold and turbo with a disconnected downpipe.

Gotta love those things!!
